DIGITAL LITERACY CERTIFICATE

COURSE AIMS:

Develop
students' understanding of the fundamentals of computing,
the components of a computer, operating system basics and
how to use a mouse and a keyboard.

Develop
students' skills in using common software applications for a
purpose.

Develop
students' skills in connecting and using the Internet and
email.

Develop
students' ability to recognise and understand how to reduce
risks and threats to computer security and privacy.

Develop
students' knowledge of new digital technologies, including
digital audio, digital video, and digital photography.

Develop
students' confidence in the use of ICT.
COURSE SUMMARY:
The goal of Digital Literacy is to teach and assess basic
computer concepts and skills so that people can use computer
technology in everyday life to develop new social and
economic opportunities for themselves, their families, and
their communities.
Whether you are
entirely new to computing or have some experience, this
curriculum will help you develop a fundamental understanding
of computers. From using the Internet, to sending e-mail, to
creating a resume, the Digital Literacy Curriculum helps you
develop the essential skills you need to begin computing with
confidence.

THIS COURSE:
You will need to bring a form of identification such as
driving licence or passport.
You will need to tell us your national insurance number.
You will have to complete an initial assessment for literacy
and numeracy.

keyboard & mouse skills and basic computer knowledge.
