COURSE
SUMMARY:
The course introduces and
develops knowledge and skills in more advanced family history
sources, both traditional and using the internet.
Emphasis in this course is on sources of
family history information such as local and national
archives, military records, Poor Laws
and workhouse records, including where to access the records
and how to make use of them.
A
topic will be chosen or allocated to focus the aims and
learning on the course and the opportunity to give a brief
oral, visual or written presentation will be offered.
The course encourages the use of a variety of manual and
computer based recording systems for family history
information
WHAT
ARE THE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS?
Students must be able to use a computer at a basic level and
be familiar with using the internet.
Students must have completed the introductory course, or have
basic experience of researching their family history,
including manual and online records.
Students have access Ancestry.com via Dudley MBC Libraries
website. You must have a Dudley Libraries card in order
to view this site.

I NEED ANYTHING FOR THE FIRST CLASS?
Notepad
and pencil, current Dudley MBC library card validated for
access to the Libraries website.
A Family History Pedigree and Record book (£3.00) and a 1 GB
USB stick (approx £10.00) are optional.
If you choose to purchase copy birth, marriage or death
certificates these cost £7 each.
